  • Charles River Clean-Up

    Earth Month 2025

    Schools and departments across the University are partnering with the Charles River Conservancy for a morning of cleaning up trash, microplastics, and debris to support a cleaner, healthier Charles River. The CRC will provide a brief education on the local river watershed and provide tools and training. All Harvard community members and their family and friends are welcome to participate!

  • Apply by Sept. 4: Harvard Business School Student Sustainability Associates (SSAs)

    The Harvard Business School (HBS) Student Sustainability Associate Program, founded in 2006, is the school’s peer-to-peer education program that promotes sustainable behavior on and off campus. An SSA is hired from each RC section to connect with their classmates on how key sustainability topics impact business. These topics have included climate change, social equity, environmental justice, transportation, energy, food, and water.

    CSSL provides an opportunity for Harvard students to work together with other students from across the University’s Schools on sustainability projects, to connect and network with sustainability leaders (including faculty, and administration), and to provide feedback and recommendations on Harvard’s sustainability initiatives.

  • Meet The Bees Workshop

    Join us for an engaging and informative Meet The Bees Workshop to delve into the fascinating world of bees and the honey they produce. Discover the vital role bees play in our ecosystem, their complex behaviors, and the journey from hive to honey jar. Led by a beekeeping expert from Alvéole, workshop highlights will include:

    -The science of bees and their critical role in global pollination and biodiversity
    -Beekeeping 101 to gain insights into the art and science of urban beekeeping techniques and sustainable practices
    -Honey production process overview to understand how bees create honey and the methods involved in harvesting and processing honey
    -Interactive elements including a viewing of the active apiaries on the 10th floor of Harvard’s Smith Campus Center

    Expand your knowledge, engage in meaningful discussions, and enjoy a sweet afternoon learning about bees!

    This event is open to all HUID holders. Registration is required.

    Managed by the Harvard Office for Sustainability, the Council of Sustainability Leaders (CSSL) comprises Harvard graduate and undergraduate students who lead and are involved in sustainability-related student groups on campus.
