Move Out 2024: Donate Items and Reduce Waste

Donation Station graphic that shows images and text of items students can donate during move out. Items include furniture and household items, clothes and shoes, and books, office supplies, and electronics.

This move-out season, students can act sustainably by thoughtfully reducing waste through the donation or proper disposal of items you no longer need. All donations benefit Harvard Habitat for Humanity and the Recycling & Surplus Center.

Students can drop off items at the donation station bins, located at all student residences on campus. Accepted donations include household goods and furniture, clothing and shoes, books, office supplies, and electronics. Be sure to wrap any fragile items and tie shoe laces together.

For information about how to recycle or dispose of something, explore Recycling and Waste Management’s Waste Wizard tool.
