Carter Umetsu is graduating from Harvard Business School in May 2025 with his Master of Business Administration (MBA) focusing on the intersection of business and sustainability. During his time at Harvard, Carter became involved in campus sustainability initiatives and programs, including the Office for Sustainability’s Student Sustainability Associates (SSA). What is your best memory working in sustainability at Harvard?
“My favorite memories were easily the smaller ones filled with joy, like separating recycling, trash, and compost together with the other SSAs to identify misallocated items.”
What other sustainability-related experiences did you have on campus or beyond during your time at Harvard?
“Aside from my work with the Office for Sustainability, I was also involved with the sustainability club during my time at Harvard.”
What are your plans moving forward?
“After Harvard, I will be moving to New York City to work for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).”
