Council of Student Sustainability Leaders

SPH

Riya Philip is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a focus on climate change. Her interests lie at the intersection of energy systems, decarbonization, climate risk, and sustainable finance, particularly in translating climate goals into practical strategies for institutions and communities.

Before Harvard, Riya spent nearly five years at EY, most recently in its Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice. She worked with sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, and public-sector organizations across the Middle East and Asia on climate and ESG strategy, sustainable investment, climate risk, and decarbonization. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Bryn Mawr College, with a minor in Computer Science.

Through the Council of Student Sustainability Leaders, Riya is particularly interested in connecting perspectives across Harvard’s schools and exploring how climate strategy, energy systems, and implementation can come together to advance tangible sustainability solutions across the University and beyond.
