Lawrence Early (he/him/any) is a Dean’s Merit Scholar and GEM Fellow at the Harvard GSD where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture (March I). He is also a member of the Harvard Climate Leaders Program (2024-2025 cohort). He is a researcher, engineer and designer interested in the just transition, sustainable materials, sustainable infrastructure and creative reuse strategies. Prior to Harvard, he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering as an Energy Studies Scholar at Yale University, and has had the opportunity to work on large scale sustainable building design projects at Transsolar, energy efficient systems and applied nanomaterials at Georgia Tech Research Institute, and several research projects, including one on carbon capture he recently co-presented at the Department of Energy’s ARPA-E conference. In his work at the GSD and in his free time, he writes about climate, gardens, and designs and builds “zero waste furniture.”
