I am originally from Vancouver, Canada, where I spent my weekends growing up hiking in the BC backcountry and exploring alpine forests. I graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce from UBC and spent two years in public sector consulting before joining the Strategy & Operations team at Via Transportation, a transit tech startup that operates technology-enabled, on-demand public transit services on behalf of local governments and transit agencies. Through this experience, I developed a deep passion for the transportation sector – in particular, how we can create social and economic mobility for users while reducing harmful emissions and getting more private vehicles off the road.
My vision for a sustainable future: I envision a future built around the ‘city of the future’ – where cities are sustainable, resilient, and equitable. The built environment in these cities run on renewable energy sources, transportation is flexible and free of congestion, and data is seen as a critical enabler to redirect traffic flows, monitor energy consumption, and manage and distribute public services.
Favorite Green Tip: This is an often overlooked one – digital decluttering! Set a regular cadence for yourself to delete unnecessary files, unsubscribe from email lists, and reduce your online footprint, in order to minimize energy consumption related to data storage.
