Emi Kim is a Master’s candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design studying contemporary and historical dynamics of environmental and infrustructural systems. She is motivated by an interest in how climate change intersects with land use, cultural stewardship, and resilience, and how design can help cities and communities respond more equitably to both. Emi is a co-author of research on the effects of new multifamily development on home prices and on community-based approaches to environmental resilience in Hawaiʻi. This past summer, Emi was a Data and Policy Fellow at the Pratt Center for Community Development where she partnered with coalitions to advocate for affordable housing and community-driven economic development in New York City. Emi currently serves as co-chair of the Design Research Forum.
