Senior Program Manager, Sustainable Buildings
Liz joined the Harvard Office for Sustainability in May 2024, with 20 years of experience in sustainable design consulting, building performance analysis, and civil engineering. In her role as Senior Program Manager, Sustainable Buildings, she is focused on supporting Harvard’s Sustainable Building Standards and the University’s capital projects.
Prior to joining OFS, Liz was a Senior Project Manager for the City of Somerville Capital Projects and Planning Group, where she supported decarbonization planning and development of sustainable standards for municipal buildings. Her previous experience also includes the design and planning of high-performance buildings. As a Senior Building Scientist with Payette, Liz analyzed building enclosure thermal, daylight and energy performance to support project sustainability goals, and led the development of the Payette Solar Comfort Tool.
As a resident of Somerville, Liz leveraged her professional expertise for community good serving on the Mayor’s Commission on Energy Use and Climate Change, advocating for the adoption of a LEED Platinum certifiable requirements for lab buildings in the 2019 Zoning update, and supporting the development and adoption of the Specialized Municipal Opt-In code.
Liz holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.
