Council of Student Sustainability Leaders
Member
Carolyn Kang is a first-year student at Harvard College interested in studying Psychology and a secondary focus in Environmental Science and Public Policy. She is passionate about using psychological nudges to encourage individuals to act more sustainably.
Previously, Carolyn has worked closely with external environmental non-profits including Fridays For Future, Greenpeace, and Climate Fresk to promote local sustainability initiatives, climate advocacy events, and climate education programs. As a co-leader of her high school’s environmental club, she organized fundraisers, directed guest panels on sustainable entrepreneurship and permaculture, and coordinated service activities such as tree planting and swamp restoration outings.
Carolyn is also eager to explore sustainable agriculture and composting methods. Through her involvement with the Food Literacy Project, she aims to expand and promote composting resources on campus, raise awareness about regenerative food systems and nutrition, and repurpose excess food resources for the local Cambridge community. She looks forward to creating an impact on campus with everyone at CSSL this year!
