Angelina Yihan Zhang

Angelina is a Master of Design Studies student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design focusing on sustainability and climate resiliency. Trained as an architect, her work focuses on optimizing modular systems for human survival in extreme environments, spanning from climate-resilient buildings in high-risk zones to modular space habitats in low Earth orbit. Angelina was named one of North America’s Metropolis Future 100 undergraduate architecture students and her work has been exhibited at the Shenzhen Bi-city Biennale of Low Carbon Architecture. Angelina has been awarded research grants from the Harvard Fairbank Center and the GSD Master of Design Studies program, and was selected as a 2024 Harvard CSFP Fellow.

Currently, she is researching microalgae as a bioreactor to improve indoor air quality as well as co-founding a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming desert regions into arable land through ecological restoration.
