Afomia’s journey began in a country steeped in history and diversity. She grew up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a century-old city that bore the mark of architects from all over the world. She studied design at the University of Miami with a mission to place her mark on the emerging skyline of her home city. Afomia is now pursuing her Master of Architecture II degree (March II) at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Her personal goals reflect a commitment to contribute to the evolving world of architecture where sustainability and cultural preservation intersect. She believes that architecture is not just about the construction of buildings; it is creating spaces that resonate with the people and becoming a vehicle for ecological transformation, both locally and globally. Ultimately, she’s passionate about innovative and multidisciplinary projects that help combat the climate crisis and transform human lives.
