Chris Bitzas is an engineer embedded within the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Office of Physical Resources and Planning as a full-time equivalent employee. He has over 20 years of experience in the industry, spanning building automation system design, performance contracting, and energy management. Over that time his work has focused on the life science, wastewater treatment, municipal and higher education vertical markets. At FAS, Chris is responsible for managing the energy and utilities across more than 200 buildings and developing energy savings projects, as well as decarbonization plans to enable FAS to contribute to the university’s climate goals. 

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a master’s degree in Energy Systems from the Northeastern University College of Engineering, and is a Fellow at the Gordon Institute of Engineering Leadership at Northeastern University. He also holds CEM and LEED AP certifications.
