Council of Student Sustainability Leaders

College

Myla Leung is a first-year student at Harvard College interested in concentrating in Economics, Environmental Science and Public Policy, or Biology.

Driven by a passion for empowering youth to take action on environmental issues, she has launched environmental education programs in her community that incorporate hydroponics and hands-on gardening. She has interned with her local Green New Deal Coalition, helping lead nonviolent climate actions, and served on the Maryland Sierra Club Youth Advisory Council, where she advocated for legislation such as the Maryland EmPOWER Bill to curb greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, she has organized climate clinics to engage high school students in local advocacy and spearheaded fundraisers to protect the Chesapeake Bay.

Beyond climate work, Myla has championed sustainable food systems and nutrition initiatives, raising awareness about the importance of fiber and advocating for healthier school meal options. She looks forward to shaping Harvard into a more sustainable campus and is so excited to join CSSL!
