Navin Desai is a First-Year at Harvard College prospectively studying Environmental Science & Public Policy and Integrative Biology. He has previously served as a National Coordinator for Fridays for Future U.S., where he helped organize the 2023 Global Climate Strike and logistically oversee its 50 national local groups. Additionally, he Co-Chair of his high school’s Student Action Committee and Head of its Environmental Task Force, where he testified live before the DC Council three times in favor of pertinent local environmental legislation, as well as lobby Congressmembers on Capitol Hill, including Senator Sinema’s office. At school, he also worked to launch a program that donated all excess fresh food from the cafeterias to people experiencing hunger in the DMV area. Beyond environmental advocacy, Navin is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Active Voice, a nationwide youth literary magazine aiming to inspire activism through art and writing. He manages over 60 Editors and Ambassadors and has featured authors previously published in the New York Times, Academy of American Poets, Kenyon Review, and more. In the future, he hopes to work at the intersection of global climate justice and health.
