Julie Heck is a Graduate School of Education Candidate in Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology.

She is an interdisciplinary educator with a background in music, business, tech, and sustainability. She holds an MBA in Energy Management from the Technische Universität Berlin and certificates in Data Science and Data Analytics from LaunchCode.

She has worked with the Missouri Botanical Garden and its sustainability division, the EarthWays Center, as an intern, ambassador, consultant, and volunteer for 10 years. Before moving to Cambridge, she was living in Indonesia helping organize beach cleanups, and before that in Alaska as an Eco Tour Guide and Naturalist.

Currently, Julie is designing and developing an EdTech product along with an integrated climate curriculum to make learning about this topic more engaging and accessible to wider audiences, including early elementary students.

She also wants to tackle ocean plastic pollution at its source by advocating for policies and regulations on plastic production as well as influencing behavioral change in the broader public through education initiatives.

Her mission is to create a scalable impact in environmental conservation by raising awareness around climate change, fostering collaboration between industries, and inspiring people to come together and take action worldwide.
