Senior Program Manager, Building Engineering

John joined the Harvard Office for Sustainability in June 2024, as Senior Program Manager for Building Engineering. In this role, John is focused on improving the energy performance of Harvard’s buildings and acts as a technical resource supporting University-wide decarbonization feasibility studies and capital projects. 

He comes to Harvard from Arup where he spent 16 years as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.  John is an experienced mechanical engineer with expertise in detailed design, construction administration and commissioning of HVAC systems across a broad range of building occupancy types. He is also proficient in master-planning and decarbonization planning of district thermal energy systems.

John holds Mechanical Engineering degrees from Lehigh University (BS) and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (MS). He is a licensed mechanical engineer and construction supervisor in Massachusetts and is a certified Passive House consultant (CPHC) and LEED (BD+C) accredited professional.

When he’s not working, John prefers to be outside. He enjoys adventures (and an occasional misadventure) on skis and wheels with his wife and two boys.
