Jacob Friedman

Council of Student Sustainability Leaders

Jacob Friedman is a First-Year at Harvard College intending to study a biology-focused concentration and Environmental Science & Public Policy. At Harvard, he is currently the PBHA Environmental Action Committee’s Communications Co-Lead and works with the education group in partnership with Cambridge Afterschool Program. Jacob is also a member of the First-Year Social Committee, Title IX Student Advisory Board, and sole First-Year on the Committee on Student Life.

Outside Cambridge, Jacob is on the National Coordination Team for Fridays for Future USA; he helps plans logistics for climate groups across the country, comprising over 65,000 activists. Alongside FFF, Jacob co-organized the 2024 Local Conference of Youth held in Arizona last September where U.S. youth demands were drafted, being sent to COP29 and the White House for inclusion into the United States’ NDC.

In his free time, Jacob is a music enthusiast and loves learning languages, as he’s pursuing a Mandarin (中文) citation. He hopes to branch his interests in molecular medicine, environmental health, and climate policy at Harvard.
