Wanqi (Yuki) Fang

Wanqi (Yuki) Fang is a first-year MDes Ecologies student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She studied Culture, Technology, and Sustainable Business at NYU Gallatin, where she explored environmental questions through culture, political economy, and business. During her time in New York, she also worked with the Billion Oyster Project on ecological restoration and public-facing environmental research in New York Harbor. 

At Harvard, her work is increasingly focused on sustainable materials and biomanufacturing. Growing up around her family’s furniture manufacturing business in China shaped her interest in how lower-impact materials can become affordable and scalable in real-world production. Outside of school, she enjoys rock climbing, drumming, DJing, and hiking.
