Council of Student Sustainability Leaders
GSD
Miray Çelikkol is an architectural designer, researcher, and a first year graduate student in the Master in Design Studies (MDes) Ecologies program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Originally from Istanbul and raised in the United States, her work explores the intersections of architecture, ecology, cultural heritage, and material practices, with a particular interest in how landscapes carry histories of human and more-than-human relationships. Before Harvard, Miray received her Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and worked across architectural practice, exhibition design, and archaeological fieldwork, including exhibition design at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and heritage documentation and conservation work in Türkiye.
Her current research considers landscapes as living archives, bringing together ecological knowledge, material reuse, and cultural practices. Through the Council of Student Sustainability Leaders, she is especially interested in developing collaborative approaches to reuse and circular material practices that can connect students across disciplines and make sustainability more tangible within our everyday environment + campus life.
