Jonathan Medina
Council of Student Sustainability Leaders
HBS
Jonathan is a second-year MBA candidate at Harvard Business School focused on decarbonizing digital and industrial infrastructure. A chemical engineer by training, he managed cooling systems, absorption refrigeration, and water treatment projects at Dow Chemical, where he saw how operational efficiency translates to real climate impact. During HBS, he co-founded UpcycleX, an MIT Climate & Energy Prize semifinalist. At Harvard and MIT, he’s building RespiraTech, a Harvard–MIT startup developing passive, closed-loop cooling modules to cut data-center energy use and water dependence. Jonathan’s interests include energy efficiency, water stewardship, and turning lab breakthroughs into deployable solutions. As part of the Council of Student Sustainability Leaders, he’s excited to collaborate on practical pilots, data-driven measurement, and student–industry bridges that advance Harvard’s sustainability goals.
