In this session\, Professor Jody Freeman will discuss the EPA’s greenhouse gas rules for the auto\, power\, and oil and gas sectors and the SEC’s final rule on climate-related financial risk. Professor Freeman will also explore if these rules were weaker than expected and what lies ahead in the courts. Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability and Director of the Salata Institute\, Jim Stock\, will host. This series is part of the collection of VPAL Signature Events and is co-sponsored by the Harvard Alumni Association. \nHarvard community members can register to attend virtually.

DESCRIPTION:Prior to applying by the Sept. 13\, 2023 deadline\, all applicants must have attended or watched a recording of this Sept. 7 CSSL Info Session. \n— \nAre you interested in applying to the Council of Sustainability Leaders this year? Attend an upcoming info session on Thursday\, September 7\, 2023\, to learn about CSSL! Note that attending this info session or watching the recording of the session is a requirement before applying. \nWhat is CSSL?: Managed by the Harvard Office for Sustainability\, the Council of Sustainability Leaders (CSSL) comprises Harvard graduate and undergraduate students who lead and are involved in sustainability-related student groups on campus. CSSL provides an opportunity for Harvard students to work together with other students from across the University’s Schools on sustainability projects\, to connect and network with sustainability leaders (including students\, faculty\, and administration)\, and to provide feedback and recommendations on Harvard’s climate\, health\, equity\, and sustainability initiatives. \nCSSL Member Expectations: Attend weekly meetings and periodic dinners\, work on collaborative projects\, and give feedback on Office for Sustainability initiatives throughout the year. \nInfo Session: Thursday\, September 7 @ 5:30-6:30 pm (RSVP to receive the Zoom link) \nApplication: The deadline for CSSL applications is September 13.
