DESCRIPTION:Join the Harvard Office for Sustainability and Harvard Common Spaces for an Earth Day Festival on Tuesday\, April 22\, 2025 from 12 to 2 pm at the Science Center Plaza. \n\nBring everyday items you no longer need and pick up stuff for free at a Freecycle hosted by Harvard Recycling. No donation is required to shop!\nHave electronics to recycle? Harvard University Information Technology will collect them. See electronic waste items HUIT can accept. Please note lithium batteries should be taped and there should be no leaking or oversized batteries.\nNeed to transfer data from old tech? IT security support staff will collect and repurpose equipment and cords for outdated data formats (like floppy drives and zip drives) and provide data transfer services. Transfer the data from your outdated technology onto new storage devices (that you provide)\, or onto cloud services like SharePoint and g.harvard spaces. The team can also help identify data types\, assess old encryption methods\, and evaluate drive viability.\nCollect your plastic bags and bring them to our plastic film recycling station.\nBring your bike to be checked up and commute safely and sustainably back home.\nLearn from and connect with Harvard groups tabling at the event.

The event will take place Tuesday\, September 24\, 3-4 pm on the 10th floor of the Smith Campus Center. \nTime to reap the fruits of our labor with this very hands-on honey extraction workshop. Our beekeeper will assist you over the course of this fun-filled hour as you: \n\nUncap honeycomb cells\nHand-spin honeycombs in the centrifugal extractor\, and\nFilter the raw honey before jarring and labeling it all\nWalk away with an unforgettable experience and your very own honey jar!\n\nBrought to you by Harvard Common Spaces\, the Harvard Office for Sustainability and Harvard Real Estate. \nWe will provide refreshments!
