SUMMARY:Apply by Monday\, Oct. 13: Student Sustainability Grants
DESCRIPTION:The Student Grant program funds creative projects that contribute to Harvard’s commitment to climate and health and help create a more sustainable community. \nThe Office for Sustainability founded the Student Grant program in 2010 to provide students with seed funding to support new ideas and innovative projects that address global sustainability challenges with on-campus applications. \nThe Program funds projects that are specifically aligned with the goals\, standards\, and commitments in Harvard’s Sustainability Plan. Special consideration is given to projects that address climate change and enhance wellbeing for all. \nReview the Student Grant eligibility and application checklist \nApply for a Student Grant\n\nApplications are due Monday\, October 13\, 2025.\nIf you are interested in applying but have questions\, or would like to discuss a potential project idea\, please email rachel_martinez@harvard.edu to set up a quick consulting session.\nWe are especially interested in projects that in addition to addressing sustainability challenges\, address topics around environmental justice\, social equity\, diversity\, and inclusion and belonging.\n\nLearn more about Student Sustainability Grantss

SUMMARY:Algamatrix Exhibition - The Future of Homes: Algae\, Sensors\, and the Next Generation of Domestic Space
DESCRIPTION:What if future homes responded to nature and the material intelligence of living systems? This exhibition explores emerging approaches to domestic space that prioritize sustainability\, adaptability\, and sensory engagement. Featuring inflatable algae-based modules\, the installation explores responsive interiors. Sensor devices suggest how future homes might intuitively engage with their environment. Supported by Harvard Office for Sustainability. \nThe exhibition will be open at the Kirkland Gallery at the Harvard Graduate School of Design from April 25-May 4. An opening reception will be held on April 25 from 5:30-6:30 pm with “algae-inspired bites\,” including spirulina smoothies\, seaweed crackers\, and nori-wrapped vegetarian bites. \nFEATURING: Angelina Zhang\, Benedetta Zuccarelli\, Chenjie Xiong\, Lydia Yan\, Patrick Margain\, Skye Gao\, and Ya Qin
